  8.  @keithmoore5306  it's not practical to build larger guns. You're not getting better performance. Bigger is not better. Nor is building a 100,000 ton Battleship particularly useful. You wind up with a ship which is bigger than most of your facilities. It's rather pointless to build something that doesn't fit your dry docks as an example. Or in case the United States Navy , bigger than the Panama Canal locks.
