  11.  @donaldgrant9067  Poorly is subjective.... It's did fine in the Med and Italy. With the 8th and 9th AF it had issues with heating, compression in dives, and double the maintenance with 2 engines.

In its defense, it served from day one till the end of the war in every region. The P-51 reputation is from 1944 on and escort Missions have more opportunities for scoring kills.
