  24. You know it's funny. I was just dealing with my Lefty sister this morning about Juneteenth. It's about as meaningless as Flag day was. But at least Juneteenth was a paid holiday and there's no bills in the mail. I did have no idea why we are dragging up slavery all over again? And then celebrating the fact that some folks got a late memo? If the people of Galveston, Texas wish to celebrate this? Understandable. But in Philadelphia in 2023? Not really. As for the mayor of Chicago? Apparently the criticism has hit a nerve. He's decided to be as ineffectual as the last mayor of Chicago.

  28. I had this very argument this morning with my sister. It's like celebrating getting a late bill in your mail. The war ended with the surrender at Appomattox. I don't see any marching or celebration about that? I don't care about slavery anymore. I don't need any reparations. It's fine if the locals in Texas want to celebrate this. Is this really worthy of a national holiday? Not really. I didn't care about Flag Day or Kwanzaa either.
