  1. UKoctane If you look back to 1982, the Royal Navy was in real trouble. Several ships lost. Long logistics trail. The RAF Vulcan attack was a minor miracle that could not repeated. Argentina had they reinforced the Islands more or force the Navy to action; could have flipped the outcome. The Brits had no plan b or reserve force if the carriers were damaged at all. Without air cover, the fleet would leave. Just as the USN did at Guadalcanal in 1942.
