@lc3853 what loss of control?

This is 2024, not 1824. It's a World economy. You can't make a banana or grow a coffee bean.

They get a decent wage. Typically over $30 an hour.

Shipping cost always get passed on to the customer.

Till somebody unloads the ships; you have nothing to haul on the truck.

Why do you think Japan has so many vending machines? Fast food workers in California are now making $20 an hour. They are going to be replaced with them.

It has nothing to do with hurricanes. The contract ended at midnight.
2
@IamAnson777 the contract ended.
2
@God__Emperor_ still has nothing to do with the weather. Still has nothing to do with people's feelings.

If someone wanted from America to buy it, they could.

Nice bumper sticker, but not practical. General Electric is not going back to the days of building light bulbs. Nobody's buying Kodiak film anymore.
2
Good luck trying to grow a banana or a coffee bean.

Most unions are public sector or service jobs now.

Hurricane has nothing to do with the strike. The contract ended October 1st.

You think oil is crap? Coffee beans are crap? Cars are crap?

@MarkD-pl4fu we do have manufacturing here. But America excels at things other than consumer products. The World wants Boeing airplanes. Lockheed Martin f-35s. Pharmaceuticals from Merck. Medical Technology. Etc. Nobody wants Craftsman tools anymore. Nobody wants a Zenith TV. Nobody wants a GE light bulb.
1
@joetrey215 actually, General Electric is split into three different businesses. And the point of the commentary is that people are focused on consumer products. Not the products that the World really wants from America.

@philly440 Apple disagrees with you. And when you see them making iPhones in Cleveland? Then it will be practical.
1
@philly440 they are no different than any other industry. Look at the development of AI. Greetings from West Philly by the way....🙋🏾♂️
