  5. First of all, you are not trying to enter a foreign port. Your boat has to declare those weapons to customs at every port you go. And you will find not many countries appreciate an armed sailboat or a cargo vessel.

  6.  @Idahoguy10157  Armed merchant vessels isn't done because liability and international regulations. You're not dealing with US law. You are dealing with arms policy of every international Port. What plays in the United States, does not play in the United Kingdom , Japan or Etc. same way you can't drive across the Canadian on Mexican with a gun in the car. There's also the fiscal liability and potential lawsuits for wrongful death and injuries . Maritime companies don't want that hassle. Any more than your local convenience store. Which is why they have policies not to be fighting shoplifters.
