  11.  @Metapharsical  what is a crew traveling to India, working for Japanese firm, on a car carrier; doing an inside job with no cargo ? The travel information of commercial ships is not classified. They can read Shipping News posts and Lloyds of London registers just like everyone else.

And as we've seen from this channel, the ownership angle at best on paper. We've got a mixed crew. Bahamian flag. Japanese lease. UK company. If they were trying to make a point? This was not a particularly good one.

  13.  @Metapharsical  the captain could have sounded the alarm. But this thing is basically just a floating parking garage. The guys in the engine room are not going to be able to do very much. And those in the crew quarters aren't going to be able to just hide under the bed or behind the door for long. And lifeboat is all the way aft.

  16.  @deidresable  that is actually true. We have like eight out of 11 carriers active right now. That's a lot. And we have a ton of ships backed up in maintenance. Especially the submarine forces.
