No, it is not.

@findaxelfoley8106 I am sure that's comforting to the folks flying Boeing 737Max jets. There's no reason for you to worry being so new.... Physics makes aircraft crash. You run out of thrust, Lift or a combo of both. Your point on age of airframe comes into play if due to structural failure? At this time, this does not appear the case. Is pilot error a possibility? Always. But that can affect a 90 year old Lockheed or a brand new Gulfstream.

@NalaRichenbach this belongs to a museum collection at the Chino Airport.
3
It formally belongs to the Army Air corps.
3
It's part of an Air Museum.

And this vast engineering knowledge comes from?
2
@findaxelfoley8106 That is not how crash investigations work. And it's too early to designate a Cause.
2
@findaxelfoley8106 No, you are arguing with someone with a B.S. degree in Engineering Technology. And a better understanding of Aviation, materials and design.
2
@findaxelfoley8106 Confirmation bias, people’s tendency to process information by looking for, or interpreting, information that is consistent with their existing beliefs. This biased approach to decision making is largely unintentional, and it results in a person ignoring information that is inconsistent with their beliefs. These beliefs can include a person’s expectations in a given situation and their predictions about a particular outcome. People are especially likely to process information to support their own beliefs when an issue is highly important or self-relevant.

Lockheed's model 12 a Electra junior.
2
Many aircraft museums have flyable aircraft.
2
This particular aircraft is former Army.
2
@hayloft3834 this apparently is a former Army aircraft according to Wikipedia.
2
@hayloft3834 Your trying to make a point which really isn't there. There are many aircraft which were designed or built prior to September 1st 1939. This is a transport version of the 12a used in military service. And until it's crashing, part of the Museum collection based there. One of two museums actually.
2
@hayloft3834 So was a Douglas DC-3. Then made into the military C-47. The Messerschmitt BF 109 designed in 1934 and didn't fly till 1937..... Again, your making a point that is pointless. They all served during the war.

@hayloft3834 Your trying to make a point, which is pointless.

@findaxelfoley8106 it's part of the Yanks air museum.
1
Made in Burbank, California actually.
1
Do you ever think before posting? It's part of an air museum collection.
1
@Mikeylikesit1968 I beg your pardon?
1
@Mikeylikesit1968 military designation for the same aircraft.
1
@hayloft3834 it's designated a C-40 transport.
1
@hayloft3834 So the production line started prior to Pearl Harbor? You you seem to have a strange hang up here? You don't think we are supposed to have aircraft made prior to Dec.1941?
1
@hayloft3834 C-40A U.S. Army Air Corps transport with mixed passenger/cargo interior; 10 built, plus one converted from C-40B, redesignated UC-40A in January 1943.[
1
@hayloft3834 Your trying to make a distinction that isn't there.
1
@hayloft3834 we are still trying to find a point here? That means what exactly?
1
@hayloft3834 it's a Lockheed model 12a.
1
It's part of an air museum collection. Many of the aircraft are in flying condition.
1
@hayloft3834 this is a former Army aircraft.
1
It's already part of an air museum collection. It's one of over 100 aircraft.
1
@BigWhiteGuitar this aircraft was a army aircraft.
