The Arrow, like the English Electric Lightning and the Lockheed Starfighter were narrow foucsed fighter interceptors. There was no growth there. It was never going to be the F-15 or even the F-4......

  19.  @JoeyBaby47  Seaplanes have been used with subs before. Today, a drone helicopter is already here. A VSTOL drone is doable.

  20.  @JoeyBaby47  A drone today could have dual role. In ASW for example. A drone could have sonar buoys. They can locate a sub for a homing torpedo. They can assist SEAL teams with quick overwatch and cover directly from the mother sub. Issues of engine heat are not a barrier really.

  24. That's more of a hindsight thing. Engines were not there. And the aerodynamic benefits of the wing? Not proven. And by 1945 we already had p80 fighter from Lockheed.
