The more sensible solution to this is have them join the other bus services operating near 30th Street Station. The competition from Megabus is already doing this. It's convenient for the buses. They have on-ramp access to the expressway. It is close to destinations in Center City. Indoor facilities and conveniences are already available at the nearby Amtrak station; as well as access to taxis or rental cars. And the area is already non-residential.

Greyhound is doing the same thing Nationwide. There's nothing unique about Philadelphia. Greyhound is getting rid of all large terminals. They've adopted the business model of the competition. Only having stops and ticket offices. The situations in some other cities are a lot worse than Philadelphia.

@markmilitant the original property for the bus terminal was a leased property. And it has already been sold to Developers for the 76ers Arena project. Greyhound has been working Nationwide to get rid of all their existing terminal properties. They want to go to a business model of only having ticket offices and bus stops.

That makes no sense. You are putting passengers next to nothing. That's not their destination. There is no hotels to go to. There's no connections to other Transit. Moving the operations closer to 30th Street Station like the other bus companies is far more logical. It's close to the expressway and I-95 access for the buses. Close to Center City hotels. Has indoor facilities for Riders at the Amtrak station. And is already non-residential.

@yvonneplant9434 Megabus already is there. Greyhound should join them. A 30th Street area location makes a lot more sense. It has easy access to the expressway for the buses. The train station already has facilities for the passengers Like restrooms, rental cars, food and transportation connection/ taxis. The area is already commercial or just parking lots. Is actually closer to Center City. You could even make a case for buying one of the parking lots. Sadly this is a problem for Greyhound passengers Nationwide. The company has dumped all of its major terminals. Trying to be more like the other bus companies. If you look at YouTube there's horror stories everywhere of the new system. And in the background all of this has to do with the Sixers.... another headache that the Mayor keeps ducking. A much more important business /residential area. But the people of Chinatown have a 50-year history of being screwed over. Everything all the way back to the expressway, the gallery, the convention center, even a federal prison.....

@ramencurry6672 unfortunately Greyhound has done away with all of their major terminals Nationwide. They want to be more like the other bus services that don't use that kind of system. They don't have the real estate headaches. For passengers however it's a nightmare. They only have a ticket office and some random bus stop someplace. I've seen a few YouTube horror stories.
