@watershed44 Let's not say that is in stone. They will have to let labor go at some point.

For business? Not much. The Internet has made this travel unneeded.
5
Sorry, that makes zero fiscal & engineering sense. The 737 sells because it is a well make plane at the right size and cost.
4
@metatechnologist There is a reason most ships don't fly the US flag or have American crews.
3
@ericktorres9791 Southwest is facing its it's own issues with the 737 max.
3
That is like promising a unsinkable ship.
3
@almerindaromeira8352 Guess what? There is no market for hi speed rail. Nor are you getting a Concorde replacement. And Airbuses bet on the A-380 Jumbo has failed also. It's already scrapping production.
3
@sqpilot63074 Airlines want to go the Southwest airlines route of a common airframe. It's easier to train and maintain a fleet of one type.
3
Dog is not impressed....
2
There's no huge air cargo market. Most items go by sea. Only UPS and FedEx make money on cargo.
2
That's a stretch...
2
@CameTo Delta Airlines has the best deal of all. They brought a entire refinery in Trainer, PA to make fuel.
2
@andrewwaterman9240 You take for granted how far we've come in a century. It took 500 years to advance from the ships of Columbus. In just 100 years, Aviation has gone from the Red Baron to a space station .
2
Time for dream plan B & C. 😷
2
Nobody is in any better shape... Nobody has the cash or demand.
2
@UncleKennysPlace Can you imagine if Columbus had to deal with Internet critics?
2
@almerindaromeira8352 The airline cares about cost of operations, capacity, range.
2
The type certificates and training for those planes will fade. There's no huge cargo need to fill. And bush pilots need rough duty & short take off planes.
2
There's no market.
2
@giamag411 They still are.
2
I means like your car.... Parts removed and sitting in a airplane graveyard. Sold? The market is loaded with planes.
1
I really scratch my head with that idea. Ever hear of container Ships? Few items go by air.
1
@Boodieman72 cargo is about volume and speed costs. Air cargo is mostly mail or time critical items like fresh flowers. Everything else, is by sea.
1
Still grounded. Still waiting for FAA calls. And product line gone cold since January.
1
Why was there no fuel dump?
1
What do you need cargo shipped by air?
1
Some own. Some lease. Nobody is buying.
1
Phony issue.
1
@fchanMSI Wrong...
1
@AdventureswithaaronB Ask Southwest airlines. 1 plane. 1 type to get parts and train on. Reaches Every place they fly.
1
Enjoy the horse and buggy. Your Amish material.
1
Return? Not economic to do so.
1
Why? They don't make money empty parked in a boneyard. Same for Cruise ships. Don't expect new orders. Sell? Sell to whom? The competition is doing no better.....
1
That is a slanderous lie.
1
@CaptainChrom Socialism speak.
1
Freight? Air Cargo is a narrow market. Few items require next day delivery. Most of all cargo in the World, from Food to cars to Xmas lights go by ship.
1
There's very few items that air cargo makes sense for. Most items still go by Container Ship.
1
Airbus has it's own cross to bear. The A-380 fail.
1
@mytech6779 When you get market demand for such projects, then you spend money on R & D. There is no great expansion of the airlines right now.
1
@speedbird1598 We all have our pros and cons. 🙄 Still found America.
