Sure the trouble with science is that humans do it. There is politics and rivalries and all of that, the difference though, is that however strong the lobby in science, it will be overturned eventually, because it won't fit the facts. I'd argue that the idea prevalent in Quantum Physics of "shut up and calculate" is an anti-science idea, and it was very strongly pushed. People we actively discouraged from study what QM really means. But now that is changing, and lots of people are actively interested in trying to find that out. Unlike other areas, even if it sometimes takes a long time, Science is still about the underlying truth, and eventually, even if it means waiting for the dogmatists to die, the truth will find a way out.
