@davemaverick8438 Russia is the bargain basement of BRICS. The other BRICS members all happily trade with the West. Russia, on the other hand, has to flog its wares at hefty rebates to fellow BRICS members, often even below cost, because it has little choice. Especially China can't prevent itself from benefiting from Russia's predicament. India, too, is benefiting from a wealth transfer from Russia.

@davemaverick8438 The coping is so strong with you that wishful thinking has displaced reality. It's common knowledge that Russia badly needs foreign currency to meet its basic necessities, so taking a hit on the 'exchange rate' is more rule than exception.. And don't upvote your own comments. We've talked about this.

@Silver_Prussian Gawd, didn't they teach you in school about supply and demand? Demand for Russian products has dropped significantly, because the world's wealthier customers give them a miss. Russia's supply remains unchanged. It follows that Russian prices drop. To add insult to injury, Russia's production costs have gone up because of its manpower shortage due to the war, which has forced producers to raise salaries. Sure, there are still opportunistic buyers, but they are aware of Russia's predicament, so they dawdle till desperate Russia offers them a special price -- they're BRICS buddies, after all, right?
