@gavasiarobinssson5108 The UK was not harassed by the EU. Far from it, the UK wanted exclusive membership benefits at the expense of the other EU members. Unsurprisingly, that didn't fall on sympathetic ears. Some members tried constructive engagement by trying to team up with the UK to tackle certain EU policies which they weren't fond of either, but the UK arrogantly rebuffed them. After all, exclusive benefits aren't exclusive if everyone enjoys them, the British thinking went. The irony of it all is that when the UK has spent its 40 days in the desert, it can't have its earlier privileges back either.

@K64-e9w Are there any sanctions for leaving the EU? The Brits' stubborn belief that they're still eligible for EU membership benefits after they've left the club may have given you the wrong impression.

@blady7717 There are the Copenhagen criteria -- nothing particularly German about them. If Hungary keeps flouting the Copenhagen criteria, it has no business in the EU. If autocracy is what Hungary prefers, there's always the Eurasian Economic Union. Putin's club eschews democracy, so isn't that a better fit for Hungary going forward as well?

@K64-e9w You seem to have a weakness for conspiracy theories. There was no wilful intent behind the Brexit complications. Besides, the UK had been fully involved in drafting said "complications". Brexiteers like to portray the UK as a victim of the EU. If so, the UK victimised itself.

@blady7717 Don't play silly buggers. The Copenhagen criteria happened to be agreed upon in Copenhagen, hence the name. Upon joining the EU, Hungary and Poland accepted them as well.

@zoltanzzolt Are you OK, dear? You seem lost.

@zoltan6339 Mind the SNR. You're single-handedly ruining it.
