@ry1023.3 The only Asians that have demonstrated a fondness for Russia are the Norks and the Syrians. International pariahs, in other words.

The Russians should be emphatically supportive of Ukraine receiving F-16s. When they themselves were the victims of military aggression, they received thousands and thousands of fighter planes, a great many of which were Hurricanes.

@dannyp8170 NATO has gradually expanded eastward for the last 33 years. Its nuclear weapons have not. In contrast, Russia is pushing its nukes westward, most recently to Belarus, and before that, to Kaliningrad. So, you're speculating about what NATO might conceivably do, should Ukraine join, while Russia has actually done it, and not once but twice. The hypocrisy is strong with this one.

@omezH4400 Why does Russia fuss about the Storm Shadows then? They're air-launched.

They'll do fine. Lots of brooms in Ukraine.

Putin wanted to demilitarise Ukraine, but ended up remilitarising the whole of Europe. Not only that, he also alienated his biggest and best customers, supplanting them with opportunists like China and India, who're only too happy to buy Russia's oil below production cost. Things being as they are, starting an arms race must go down in history as the most asinine mistake Russia has ever made.

@janari64 The North Atlantic is smack in the middle of NATO (note the N at the beginning). It's crucial for transatlantic commerce. We protect our sea and air routes, that's all. You should be thanking the US -- not this indeterminate "the West" that you speak of -- for doing the same in the Pacific. It would be preferable if you Asians could protect yourselves -- from yourselves -- but so far, no luck.
