Contron 3001 There's that and the fact that the neo-Nazi LDPR scored 11.4% of the votes in the last elections for the Russian State Duma. And the European far-rightists are angels in comparison.

Spider Mike Er, because people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones? How does drawing attention to verifiably endemic neo-Nazism in Russia amount to Russophobia? Unless you're a complete troll, you might want to counter my points with facts instead of infantile name-calling.

Ahem, the $6 billion (your price tag) M1 Abrams is active in Iraq, under Iranian command, as we speak. Iraq has practically reverted to third world status and the current conflict with ISIS has traits of a civil war.

MrLoneWolf009 What's the difference? ISIS is behind the current flare-up of violence in Iraq, but Iraqi Sunni support has been vital to them. Ukraine's civil war is similar in that the role of the insurgent Sunnis is played by the Eastern Ukrainians and that of ISIS by Russia. I'll grant you that supplying arms to Ukraine is tricky, but it will come to that if Putin doesn't cease and desist. No wonder they're making up stories about US tanks. It's to stave off the inevitable for as long as possible.

MrLoneWolf009 I'm not sure what you're getting at. Ukraine isn't Iraq, sure. But the fact remains that the USA has supplied scores of M1s to Iraqi government forces. As a result, many have fallen into the hands of ISIS. The Ukrainians, who know a thing or two about tank warfare, surely would make worthier recipients -- that is, from a purely military viewpoint. In other words, the precedent is there. Political will is another matter altogether.
