  1. +ALEKSANDER REGOSZ That's just blatant Soviet propaganda. Before WW2, Soviet Karelians were ruthlessly repressed by Stalin. In consequence a good many Soviet Karelian PoWs, who'd been pressed into service with the Red Army, volunteered to fight the Russians. Religion didn't enter into it. To this day, Finnish Karelians are either Lutheran or Orthodox.
