  1. It's interesting that we find squirrels oh-so cute, but rats we instinctively despise. Yet they're closely related. It must be antropomorphism, since squirrels sit and use their front paws like hands.

  2. It's interesting that we hate rats but love squirrels, although they're cousins. I was the same, but when my ex-girlfriend rescued a lab rat, I struck up a friendship with the critter. At the time, I liked to chew on liquorice roots, and whenever I came by, 'Ratteke' would carefully check my pockets for them. We were so close that she offered me the animal when we split up, but since I was moving abroad, I couldn't. I heard afterwards that the neighbour's cat got 'Rottis'.
