  2.  Anthony Mcdonnell  I'm of mixed origin as well. My mum's Finnish, so I was invited to do my mandatory military service in Finland. I could've dodged it by giving up my Finnish passport, but I thought an all-expenses-paid arctic survival course was too good to miss. I survived and even stayed on as an instructor, till I was asked to apply for service in Lebanon. I did and to my surprise, got selected. My experiences of the Hezbollah are purely local. No one there was in doubt about who the aggressor was. The Hezbollah kept the IDF at bay when our rules of engagement stopped us. Occasionally, they'd use us for target practice, but we knew there wouldn't be any major escalations. The IDF, on the other hand, was entirely unpredictable. I have a scar to prove it ;-)

  3.  Anthony Mcdonnell  Having served there as a UN peacekeeper, I still wouldn't know if the Hezbollah is a force for good or bad. It's a bit of both, I guess. The locals supported them and hated the Israelis, that's for sure.
