  1.  @Chrisicola  Ducks must be good at facial recognition, too. I live in the city and often walk to work, always with bread for the ducks. They leave others in peace, but me they besiege. I'm not wearing the same outfit every day, so it must be my face.

  2. We have a great tit peck the window whenever we've let the bird feeder go empty. The bird clearly has made the connection between the bird feed and the great apes inside the house. They watch us, too, as if we're on display in a zoo.

  3. Some years ago, I went wreck diving in Kuching, Sarawak (a Japanese troopship torpedoed by a Dutch submarine). We had a pair of very friendly butterflyfish accompany us during the whole dive. They were like glued to us.

  4. I find that wild squirrels domesticate themselves... or us. We have squirrels visiting the bird feeder and if I've forgotten to fill it, they'll jump on the window sill to protest. The clever creatures must've seen me do it and they've made the association.
