@jessehachey2732 We stuffed the water jackets of our Maxims full of snow to keep the barrels from overheating. Actually, that was my grandfather and his machine gun team in the Winter War. I carried the MAG, too, in the Royal Netherlands Army. I did enjoy the shooting part, but the carrying part, not so much.

@jessehachey2732 Respect! An instructor overheard me boasting about the number of push-ups I could do (I had just demobbed from the Finnish Army after two years of service, so my arms were like hydraulic jacks), so I got picked to carry the MAG. I kicked myself for that! Two of my Finnish nieces are doing their voluntary military service as we speak. One just made border jaeger, which is a privilege reserved for only 10 females a year. I can't match her in push-ups either!
