  2.  Michael  Don't get carried away. Many Russians have lived in the EU for ages, and shake their heads in disbelief at Putin's folly. My neighbour sowed an Ukrainian flag onto his jacket, next to the Russian one, to show where his allegiances don't lie. He says strangers come up to him to shake his hand.
