  1.  @Anya-cc2tu  A successful resistance movement needs a measure of popular support. There's none of that in Russia, not to a significant degree anyway. Most Russians are fine with an absolute ruler. They actually want a tsar for a president.

  2. That would be sweet, but the Russians are politically apathetic to the extreme. They may be missing out on democracy, but they're not exactly missing it.
