@chasingthefish9042 I have both an AK and an AR. If I want to hit something, I use the latter.

Overrated. I own one -- well, a semi-auto Saiga, but it's from the same production line. I much prefer my AR.

 @chasingthefish9042 If spray-and-pray is your modus operandi, fine. However, aiming true and shooting straight is more my thing. That means maintaining your kit.

@chasingthefish9042 I've carried AK derivatives (a Valmet RK62 and RK95) while on overseas deployment and owned a civilianised Sako M92 as a reservist shooter. I got rid of the latter because the cheapy Combloc ammo would ruin the barrel of the Sako, which lacked chrome-lining. I got a Saiga MK105 to replace it. Big disappointment. In terms of accuracy, my Haenel CR223 easily trumps all that went before.

@chasingthefish9042 I served in two armed forces, in Finland and in the Netherlands. They never got wise to me, although my Dutch instructors were convinced that I had served in the Israeli Defense Forces ;-) We trained with former East German People's Army AK47s, which were surprisingly good, even though our tank crews did their best to ruin them. It must be the German engineering. I thought an AK74M would be an improvement, but nooo.
