That's doubtful. These are not true seagoing tankers, which means they were headed for Kerch harbour to offload their oil into a bigger seagoing tanker. If the Ukrainians attacked them with drones or some such, they would've had to negotiate the Kerch bridge, which is rather well defended. And you'd think the bridge was a bigger prize.

@bugtesties The Russians only bother with maintenance (read: repair) when something breaks down.

@sjaakdewinter6258 They may try to burn it off. It will burn contaminated coastal areas to a cinder, but in Russia, who cares? Russia routinely lets its forest fires burn themselves out, too.
