  3. Xover112 Neither Europe nor the US wanted to buy or win over Ukraine, as you evidently try to kid yourself. Ukraine wasn't a geopolitical tug-of-war before Putin made it so. Then you blame the other side for making it so.

  4. Xover112 You clearly don't know what you're saying. The Iraq War, for instance, caused a rift in NATO that still hasn't healed completely. If Putin really cared for Crimean self-determination, he didn't do anyone, the Crimeans included, a favour with the illegal annexation of the Crimea. How come the issue wasn't brought up earlier? Were legal means exhausted? No, Putin just lashed out after painting himself into the corner politically with his ill-advised support for Yanukovich.

  5. Xover112 Don't be a smart-ass. My issue is with Russian shite. You can't say yours doesn't smell because someone else's supposedly smells worse. Also, I wouldn't so readily play the Nazi card. It draws awkward attention to Russia's human rights record, recent political murders, curtailing of the free media, etc.

  7. Xover112 Everything's relative. Americans will remember Beslan and probably blow it out of proportion, too. And peaceful countries like Norway, Finland and Switzerland have all had mass shootings, too. So America doesn't match up to the image they have of themselves vis-a-vis the world, but what else is new? Perhaps it's better to fix your own problems than fixate on theirs.

  9. ***** The scary bit is that Putin just gave NATO a new lease of life. It was slowly but surely becoming irrelevant, but now NATO is very much in again. Did the global military-industrial complex pay Putin to stir up trouble in order to boost sales? I'm sure he'll get nice kickbacks from the Russian arms manufacturers as well.
