  2.  @lisachrister9990  The Maastricht Treaty of 1992 afforded all citizens of the EU member states citizenship of the EU as well, so yes, it is "a thing". Your government was a signatory and your parliament ratified it, too. Am I to assume you don't believe in their legitimacy? Taking away one's citizenship is not illegal. I used to hold three nationalities and now only two. I could not claim it any longer -- something about not living in that country for the last 30 years and holding two other passports... EU citizens are always citizens of another country, too, so statelessness doesn't enter into it.

  8.  @kevt3318  You're still talking rubbish. For the record, I'm not a Polish plumber, so I'm not losing out. And by the way, can I say that in my experience, plumbing standards in the UK have improved considerably since the Polish plumbers did make their way to the UK? You seem to think we're one gray mass, but no, I'm better off than the average Brit, both on paper and in my personal experience, which includes a spell with a British bank in London. I've never been dependent on your relatively meagre contributions to the EU budget -- or those of anyone else for that matter. All Brits in personal sphere -- and in the high-tech startup scene there are quite a few -- have or are in the process of applying for nationality. Having also lived in Spain, I can vouch for the Spaniards that they can barely abide by British holidaymakers. British expats are okay - sort off -- but you'll find precious few Brexiteers among them. Your soccer hooligans, those you can keep.
