Still, removing an anachronistic figurehead won't solve the crisis the Brits themselves (i.e. Brexit and, to a lesser extent, COVID) have caused.

@mcr2356 I have to disagree. Covid-19 has been around in Europe for a year or so, but only when Brexit finally kicked in in earnest on Jan 1, 2021, did British exports nose-dive.

@billijomaynard8924 Actually, the profits from crown lands go to the Parliament, which peels off some pocket money for the royals. Mind you, their allowances are royal indeed, but the crown lands are not for Queen Lizzie to sell should she find her pockets empty. I'm sure the French, who beheaded their royals, would stand to receive a tidy sum if they were to sell the Palace of Versailles to the Chinese, but that isn't likely to happen either. Something about national heritage.
