@Coecoo Sweden has been a few days in NATO and already the infighting begins. So much for the famed Nordic unity.

@macjonte Ahem, the Viking Age lasted till the 11th century. Finland came gradually under Swedish influence starting from the 12th century -- although the start date is sketchy, too, as Sweden probably made up its first 'crusade' to Finland. The conquest, if you can call it that, was complete in the 13th century only. I wouldn't go boasting about the present Baltic states being under the Vikings either.

@bennyklabarpan7002 You're making it up as you go along. Present-day Finland was first inhabited by the Sami between 1600 and 1500 BC, followed by the Finns from 1250 to 700 BC. The Sami and the Finns made their way from the Urals, whereas the Scandinavians as Indo-Europeans originate from further south, the Pontic-Caspian Steppe. The Finns and the Swedes only properly started mixing it up in the Middle Ages, when Swedes settled along the coast of Finland.
