  2. Within a similar timeframe in WW2, Germany took far larger swathes of Soviet territory than France. That happened after the Fall of France, so the Soviet Union should've been forewarned. Also, by 19th century standards, Napoleon waged quite a Blitzkrieg against Russia, which barely offered battle.
