@ShaneyElderberry You're confusing hypersonic and ballistic missiles. The former can maneuver during flight, which makes them tough to intercept, while ballistic missile do not. Ballistic missiles are therefore easier to intercept, and that's well within Israel's capabilities. Iran, Lebanon(?) and Yemen have no hypersonic missiles. Lebanon and Hezbollah aren't the same thing, by the way. Rookie mistake.

@ShaneyElderberry That still doesn't make the Houthi missile hypersonic. And no anti-missile system is infallible. Israel claimed that their high-altitude anti-ballistic missile system, the Arrow, hit the Houthi missile, but the latter's still-lethal fragments hurtled down. The Iron Dome, which is the next layer of Israel's anti-missile defences, failed to neutralise the fragments. For your info, there is no such thing as a low-speed ballistic missile. If a missile follows a ballistic trajectory, it moves at tremendous speed, sometimes even hypersonic speed. Still, in missile tech jargon, it's not considered hypersonic, because it's not manoeuvrable.

@ShaneyElderberry I was recounting Israel's official explanation. You can put as much stock in it as you wish, but it is plausible. We can safely assume Iran has no supersonic missiles, but merely ballistic ones. In April this year, when Iran itself launched a barrage of missiles and drones at Israel, including ballistic missiles, Arrow and Iron Dome did work to near-perfection. But I understand that your ilk cherry-picks "facts". I didn't claim that all ballistic missiles travel at hypersonic speeds. However, for the longer-range ones, a ballistic trajectory implies that they fall at such speeds when they re-enter the atmosphere.
