  6. To date, the EU has no collective defence. It's down to individuals members. Some have neglected their defence since the Cold War ended, but others have gone the other direction. Poland, for instance, easily outspends the US on defence. Also, if we take a cold, hard look at what the US contributes to NATO, I think you'll find that it falls short of the currently agreed 2% of GDP.
