Why would you dispute the obvious? A majority of Americans identify as white, which suggests that they're of European ancestry. Also, a great many Latino Americans, who don't identify as white, have predominantly European ancestry owing to their Iberian roots.

@sparks1792 Sure, we Euros laugh at Americans who engage in cultural appropriation, even if they have the roots to justify it. It's always the clichés that they go for and, more often than not, they get those wrong, too. Still, it doesn't negate the fact that their European ancestry is very real. It's entirely appropriate to talk about a European diaspora. Would you also dispute the Jewish diaspora?

@timlinator I'm guilty of same, except it's three European passports in my case. All EU, so it only serves sentimental purposes.

@timlinator Sure, but several? The only real advantage of having spare passports is when you travel a lot and need to apply for visas and the embassies take their sweet time processing them. Then again, you can have two copies of one and the same passport.
