  1. I'm part Dutch and proud of it, but you're too kind in listing the Netherlands as a major buyer of Brazilian goods. It's called the Rotterdam-Antwerp effect and it distorts trade statistics, because many goods are just transshipped though the Netherlands. To France, for instance.

  3. If my former boss's accounts are true, the French lucked out. His employer sold the previous generation of subs to Australia, and according to him, he and his colleagues all suffered from PTSD afterwards. Macron is democratically elected. I don't know if that means anything to you. Or matters.

  4.  @lynda6338  BRICS+ is not an option, as I just explained. If the R and the C democratise and abandon their expansionism, then maybe in some conceivable future. And the I may take the opposite direction, where the R and the C are now.
