  1. Aren't you cute. If we start from the dawn of time, "the West" is a novel concept. As a cohesive political and economic entity -- and I use the term 'entity' very loosely -- it only came about when the Cold War started. Before that "the West" was pretty much a free-for-all. History wasn't your forte in school, was it?
