  1.  @La-Stranger  I haven't received my OBE yet, so no need to addess me as "Sir". I am, however, a UN peacekeeping vet who studied both history and political science. I did my other thesis about ethnic conflicts. As part of my research, I visited Armenia, Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan. And I did tours in Lebanon and Kosovo. So you can rest assured that I know the score. The UNGA recognised Israel, too, but that doesn't mean the Palestiniians forfeited their land rights. You can apply the same to the Armenians and the Azeris that once inhabited Nagorno-Karabakh. Both have been greatly wronged, and you can't wash that away with maps, UN-approved or otherwise. Ethnic minorities do have rights.

  2. Azerbaijan is busily making sure that there's something to go and come around in the future as well. Azerbaijan could make a serious effort to break this seemingly never-ending cycle of ethnic conflict, but it seems they're quite content with how things are working out. For now.
