If you insist on using that analogy, it's like the US has more than one family, of which only one is NATO. On the side, Uncle Sam maintains romantic relationships in the Far East and the Middle East, which don't come cheap. Perhaps Uncle Sam isn't quite the family man he purports to be.

@bongoybongoy3267 We're talking final assembly, which usually is the basis for tariffs. Airbus is indeed doing final assembly in Mobile, Alabama, but vice versa, Boeing is doing none of that in Europe. Boeing is therefore more exposed.

No, Putin should've left Ukraine well alone. Instead of containing NATO expansion, Putin actually made it happen. Besides, trade wars among NATO partners have come and gone, and NATO has been none the worse for it.

Sad to say, yes. We may not like China's autocratic rule, but there's logic to their decisions. Trump doesn't even honour his own deals. Why bother with new ones, which he'll only tear up again.

@supafoob4528 Luck doesn't enter into it. France just jacked itself up to second place as a global arms exporter. Germany comes in fifth place, but since third and fourth-place exporters Russia and China aren't getting any European orders, they aren't contenders.
