  1. Russia winning geopolitically? Russia is isolated. More than friends, it has leeches that take advantage of Russia's predicament. Russia's 'war economy' is on a steady course to bankruptcy while Russia plunders its sovereign wealth fund, half of which has already gone up in smoke --literally.

  2. Russia lost a lot of territory to Napoleon. In fact, Russia gave ground willingly. After taking Moscow, Napoleon grew bored of Russia and left on his own accord. Still, we're to treat Napoleon's Russian campaign like a great victory for Russia. At any rate, it was a bitter defeat for Napoleon, and set the stage for his downfall. My prediction is that Russia's military in Ukraine will implode like it did in WW1. It will be supreme irony that while Putin berates Lenin for giving up the fight against the Central Powers in WW1 and losing great swathes of the Russian Empire as a result, his ill-fated 'special military operation' will have the same effect. The question is whether the war in Ukraine is the equivalent of Napoleon's Russian campaign or will Putin already meet his Waterloo in Ukraine?
