  1. Yanukovych's Moscow handlers orchestrated the former's downfall. They didn't count on Ukrainians actually having a will of their own, being accustomed to apathetic Russians.

  2. Russia's continued bombing of Ukraine won't change the outcome of the war. If anything, it will just make the Ukrainians more resolute in fighting off the invaders. Ironically, the Russians like to celebrate the send-off they gave to Napoleon as a great victory and sure enough, the French invasion of Russia went down in history as Napoleon's worst defeat. What we're seeing is another epic defensive victory in the making.
