In the light of this, how would you typify a "Western" democracy? For example, there's nothing similar to the presidential system of France in Europe, but Africa has many similar ones. I think your problem lies in (poor) execution.

  9. You're abusing the word 'revolution'. Revolution implies that there's a mass uprising against the existing social order. In the Niger coup d'etat -- and coups in general -- it was a relative small group of usurpers -- the military -- who seized power out of the blue. Revolutions, on the other hand, simmer for a long time before they come to a head.

  12. Why the focus on France? Pretty much the whole free world is in agreement with reinstating a lawfully elected president, and if need be, under military coercion.
