@asabadragon4052 Then democracy is easily restored. All the junta has to do is call an election.

@sandisastudem6532 Yeah, the Russians tried that in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. Didn't go down well with the world community.

@conniekabasharira7084 Oh, we'll stay with our "Western" democracies all right. However, did you know that ours come in many shapes and sizes? In the light of this, how would you typify a "Western" democracy? For example, there's nothing similar to the presidential system of France in Europe, but Africa has many similar ones. I think your problem lies in (poor) execution.

@cometojesusbeforeitistoola395 FYI, democracy isn't a "Western" invention. We all started out as tribes, which were democratic in nature. You've just failed to scale up.
1
@elite7329 If so, why are ECOWAS such pushovers? When can we see an African supranational organisation that stands on its own?
1
@seimela It's the United Nations, but I guess you're too ensnared in your conspiracy theories to understand that.
1
You give too much credit to the French. You'd think they're still a major power.
1
@jonathantoymaker You do give them an awful lot of attention, as if they're the source of all of Africa's problems. Snap out of it.
1
You're abusing the word 'revolution'. Revolution implies that there's a mass uprising against the existing social order. In the Niger coup d'etat -- and coups in general -- it was a relative small group of usurpers -- the military -- who seized power out of the blue. Revolutions, on the other hand, simmer for a long time before they come to a head.
1
I think it's coming from a conspiracy theory. You both seem aficionados.
1
Gof forbid Africans should organise themselves and bring order to their continent on their own terms.
1
Why the focus on France? Pretty much the whole free world is in agreement with reinstating a lawfully elected president, and if need be, under military coercion.
