I'm not sure Putin understands English that well.

The frequency with which Russia engages in nuclear sabre-rattling is indicative of its weakened state. Still, we should prepare for the worst. As we say here, a cornered cat makes strange leaps.

Do nuclear fall-out shelters make great offensive weapons? Russia should quit its aggression against Ukraine and the wider nuclear threats that go with it, and all this would go away, practically overnight. It's Russia's war of choice, not ours.

And you're in... Taiwan?
7
Speak for yourself, we're 86% covered. I just have to mosey over to the cellar and close a heavily armoured blast door behind me.
6
While you're gorging on popcorn, it will get nippy outside. Read up on nuclear winter.

You've been spamming this for ages, Fredde.
5
Don't you worry, Russia's ICBMs literally fly from one continent to another.

@MissRed92837 Samo-samo, but it's not realistic to get everyone into a shelter if the distance is too large. Here in the capital region we have an overcapacity of 134%, because in urban settings people tend to have a fall-out shelter both at work and at home.

Iceland doesn't even bother with a token army.

@iamsorryforbeingrudebefore1626 Again, speak for yourself. You needn't necessarily spend years, or even weeks, in a nuclear fall-out shelter. You seem to have lost your survival instinct and gone all lethargic. Well, survival of the fittest.

@Its.Mine1 What's your budget?
2
But our bunkers are made with nuclear war in mind. What else?
2
@fredrikbergquist5734 *Its. Punctuation and capitalisation wouldn't go amiss either. For sure, originality is not your thing. Well-worn clichés, on the other hand, are.
2
@lc9902 Aw, you're appealing to the stone.
2
@newcreation7084 Which agreement might you be referring to? And please don't parrot oh-so-many-times-discredited propaganda. I've got better things to do.
2
@lisadsouza5061 Different times, different strokes.
2
@hadesium You failed to mention why it is different in your opinion. Maybe it's just me, but I think you should try to formulate an argument and not just throw a open-ended question out there, whataboutism-style. Or are you hoping that someone will step in and help you out? Don't be a lazy wuss.

@KevinMcgovern-c1d We have reserve supplies for emergencies. They stood us in good stead, too, when Covid-19 broke out. Besides, the Russians will be wary of sending nukes our way, because otherwise, they'll be treated to their very own fall-out. And unlike ours, their civil defence sucks.

@30yoboomer To be fair, the USA did invoke NATO's Article 5 after the 9/11 attacks, and as such NATO was mandated to rush to the Americans' defence in one way or another. That being said, the ensuing NATO-led ISAF mission in Afghanistan enjoyed the UN Security Council's unanimous support, and was renewed many times over. Our resident Krembots keep forgetting that -- if they realised it in the first place. In their defence, they weren't first in line when brain matter was dished out. So, if the War in Afghanistan was one of conquest, it had Russia's -- and China's -- seal of approval.

Why are you sacrificing everything for Putin's greater glory? Anyone with two brain cells to rub together should realise by now that Russia's interests and Putin's interests have diverged so much that continuing this war is sheer madness.

@dragosbogoi Cut the spammer some slack. Fredde is svenskspråkig.

The giant with feet of clay. There, fixed it for you.
