  1. More likely, Hezbollah feared a pre-emptive strike by Israel. Anyway, they wanted to show support for Hamas -- which they did -- and perhaps draw away some Israeli troops from the Gaza Strip. There's nothing that the US carrier strike group can do to Hezbollah that Israel can't do itself.
