@Козахь Ukraine is fighting off an aggressor, and doesn't want to feed said aggressor's war machine, which is entirely understandable -- and commendable, too. That's enough info for me. Let the poor saps who didn't see this coming play the blame game.

@goodmusik2760 So you're saying that the gas supply to Moldova was cut off by mutual consent of the supplier and the transporter. That seems clear enough.

@Peacewar2020 For your info, the EU helps itself first and foremost on a national level. Several nations -- Hungary, Slovakia and Austria are cases in point -- have neglected to help themselves and are now crying out. They were warned well in advance. The EU is not a daycare centre.

Romania's energy independence comes at a cost. Romania still relies on hydrocarbons and coal to a relatively high extent. The Nordic countries lead the way in carbon-free energy and still manage a high degree of energy independence.
