You're projecting, Boris.

The Soviets tried to Russify the Balts for more than half a century. No dice.

@eliotness4029 Some do, some don't. But what's certain is that no-one, not even the ethnic Russians, leave the Baltic States for Russia. And have you noticed how the Kaliningradians increasingly have aspirations for their homeland to become the fourth Baltic State? They can't get their head around the fact that their neighbours are making great economic strides, while their head honcho in faraway Muscovia leaves them poorer still.

@perryblanco1446 No, that's simply not true. "Compared with the same quarter of the previous year, seasonally adjusted GDP increased by 0.9% both in the euro area and in the EU in the third quarter of 2024, after +0.6% in the euro area and +0.8% in the EU in the previous quarter". Source: European Commission, Oct 30, 2024. If you were savvier in the facts department, you could've checked that yourself beforehand, but bots be bots, eh Perry?

@Isaac-muntz What is it to you?

@Isaac-muntz Study up on the matter then. Then make your presence known.

@perryblanco1446 Concern yourself with facts for a change. And I'm an EU citizen, thrice over.
1
@perryblanco1446 Yup, the IMF is definitely lying, or rather, propagating Russian lies about the Russian economy.

@thusomaepa1852 Do you have figures that suggest the opposite? Don't just speculate, do your research.
1
@perryblanco1446 What exactly is wrong about the EC's stats? Produce figures and we'll talk further. I feel like I'm wasting my time on you.

@perryblanco1446 What is more accurate than GDP figures? Without cold, hard facts, your arguments are toothless. Europe has been deindustrialising for quite a while now, becoming more and more a service economy. Like other highly developed countries, we've increasingly outsourced manufacturing to low-cost countries to stay competitive. Since you don't appear to be well-versed in these matters, you should read up on case studies that show how small a share of a consumer product's price stays in the country of manufacture. They may have the factories, but we reap the bulk of the profits.

@perryblanco1446 Wrong again. Russia was ranked 43rd in GDP PPP per capita. With few exceptions, European countries fare better. We do much, much better. You never concern yourself with facts, do you? Sloppy!
