The majority, as in the Palestinian Authority, strove for a two-state solution, but Netanyahu and the Israeli hardliners effectively managed to sabotage all that, cleverly using Hamas as a tool. You can google for soundbites where Bibi brags about it. Just out of interest, have you ever been accused of geopolitical naivety?
