There's separatism in India as well, as in separatists feeling colonised by India. It's they who might get inspired even more.

Not true. Russia's still very much at it. Russia never properly decolonised.

@maggiechan33 You'll find that many colonial remnants are reluctant to cut the chord, because the lack of subsidies from the motherland would condemn them to economic hardship. Many independence referendums have failed for that reason. Even if they succeed, the newly-independent territories tend to lose a big part of their populace as emigrants to the motherland. Suriname is a case in point. Post-independence, the country had lost a third of its populace to emigration to the Netherlands. Ever since, Suriname has been anything but a success story.

@astroo1991 Don't lie. The Palestinian Authority has been pursuing the two-state solution. It's Netanyahu and Hamas that have been resisting it for their own selfish reasons.
