@oceanwave4502 You should be comparing social benefits, not defence budgets. If the US were to keep the welfare system in Greenland intact (without which the Greenlanders might not give their blessing), while still allowing free movement between Greenland and continental US, I expect a great many of the unemployed, sick and elderly would find their way to Greenland.

@Counterpart1234 Greenland is a case of misleading advertising if there ever was one. The Vikings realised their mistake after naming Iceland, so they tried to make amends, but clearly went too far.
