Hungary just dug a deeper hole for itself.

@thodorisd5136 For starters, Hungary falls short of the EU's Copenhagen criteria. If Hungary were to apply for EU membership now, its application would be rejected out of hand.

@Carl-p3e7z Arbitrary? They are the tenets of the EU. Compliance -- or the current lack of it -- is indeed work in progress for Ukraine. For Hungary, it's a case of abandonment.

He should patriotise without EU money, but nooo, he can't do without.

@thodorisd5136 Is there a point to your comment? I couldn't locate it. Trias politica applies to the EU as well.

@bellevuebellevue8131 Sticks and stones, Belle. Try to make an argument instead.

@thodorisd5136 Yeah, not playing conspiracy theories with you. You only have conjecture on offer.

@thodorisd5136 I've been on YouTube for almost twenty years, and I've never had comments where I was the OP "linked" to anyone's profile. You're seeing things.
2
@thodorisd5136 Uh, you "linked" my comment to yours by responding to my initial comment, to which I replied. Why do I feel like I'm working at a daycare centre?

Duh, with Trump regaining the White House, the US is wavering in its support for Ukraine and stirring hope in the Kremlin. The EU -- with the obvious but far, far less significant exceptions Hungary and Slovakia -- is not wavering in its support for Ukraine. So who's working for whose hegemony exactly? BTW, you've overused your Kissinger quote to the point of having become a complete bore.

Orban meeting Putin, as if he was the president of the EU. Gullible Orban fanboys and girls didn't notice the mistake -- or should I say, either mistake?

@bellevuebellevue8131 Sticks and stones. No-one cares for your unsubstantiated personal opinions. Try to make a proper argument for a chance.

@peun162 As I already wrote, work in progress.

@thodorisd5136 What comment and why do you have a bee in your bonnet?
1
@thodorisd5136 Well, you don't know your English idioms. I've got another one for you: much ado about nothing.

@Syrenia1552 The EU constantly freezes and unfreezes funds earmarked for Hungary, subject to completion of reforms. Having to resort to such drastic measures is a disgrace in itself, reflecting badly on the EU, too. IMHO, it would be better to cut off Hungary altogether, and send it on its way. Maybe Putin and his EEU will have Hungary. We all know that Orban needs EU cohesion funding in order to pay his cronies, and indirectly, himself. And his EU-funded vanity project are legend.

@thodorisd5136 Which part of "IMHO" don't you understand? It's neither me nor Ursula who withholds funds from Hungary because it can't get its act together. It's the commission, the council and the parliament of the EU that do. That's all very democratic -- elected officials the lot of them. It's all very simple. If you don't want to abide by club rules, you leave the club. If you don't leave on your own accord, you get kicked out. If you want to continue this discussion, no more Greek drama, if you please.
