  1. At the very least, it would've gone against the spirit of the GFA. Fortunately, the EU has safeguards in place, first and foremost ROI's right of veto within the EU. The most interesting part of this tempest in a teapot is that ROI got to demonstrate how it looks out for the interests of Ireland as a whole. In doing so, I wonder how many moderate unionists it just won over for Irish reunification. Another step closer to a United Ireland.
