Comments by "peabase" (@peabase) on "MEPs express concern EU Parliament will be left with no time to ratify Brexit deal if one is reached" video.
It's only fair that the MEPs ratify the deal, if there's one. What's unfair is that your MPs don't have to ratify it -- unless BoJo deems it prudent, that is. It appears British democracy isn't as good as it's cracked up to be. But we knew that already, with Boris enjoying a disproportionate majority owing to your archaic first-past-the-post system. Also, you conveniently gloss over the EU Commission being at the mercy of the EU members, who can veto any deal they don't like the look of. France has already flagged their readiness to do so.

@andrewtowell6074 Er, which part of "provisionally" don't you understand?

@andrewtowell6074 But eventually these things are supposed to get ratified. To put matters in context, your House of Commons is known for taking its sweet time ratifying treaties that do require it, sometimes indefinitely. In the mean time, the same provisional application scheme applies to you as well. Indeed, what does it say about the EU Commission? That come what may, you're worse off democratically? It certainly seems so.

@andrewtowell6074 How noble of you to concede the argument.

Because there's been no deal to ratify, Einstein. Interestingly, Boris doesn't need British parliament to ratify a trade deal, unlike the EU. This flies in the face of the Brexiteers' chronic whining that the EU is undemocratic.
